September 4, The Iran Project – Head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage Research Center said Silk Road forum is a way toward globalization considering the long history of the Silk Road in facing with this phenomenon.
Attending the 11th Forum of the Silk Road Mayors which kicked off in Qazvin on Saturday, Head of Iran’s Cultural Heritage Research Center, Seyed Mohammad Beheshti emphasized on the importance of the Silk Road’s revival in the globalization process.
Beheshti pointed to the difference of globalization with universalaizing, and said universalizing turned the world into a small village where as globalization expands the world and the history of the Silk Road can be effective as a part of global project.
Also, a MoU was signed between Qazvin municipality and Iran’s Cultural Heritage Research Center for establishing Silk Road Research and Study Center in the city of Qazvin to strengthen the Silk Road studies and researches, plan and implement cultural and educational programs in the national and international levels.
The 11th Forum of the Silk Road Mayors started in the Iranian city of Qazvin, which is situated on the historical route. The Silk Road was once an important network of trade routes which connected the East to the West.
