Santiago, Aug 26, IRNA – Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif conferred with President Michelle Bachelet of Chile at the end of his one-day visit to that country.
The meeting took place in the absence of reporters.
While in Santiago, Zarif participated in the inaugural ceremony of a conference to discuss Iran and Chile joint economic opportunities and held separate talks with senior officials of Chile including the Chilean parliament speaker, a number of senators.
He also met with his Chilean counterpart, signed an agreement for Iran-Chile political cooperation and participated in a news conference during his 18-hour stay in Chile.
Zarif left Santiago for La Paz, Bolivia, late on Thursday local time (early hours of Friday in Tehran) on the fifth leg of his tour to six Latin American states.
