Qamsari: Over 2,100,000 bpd oil exported in July

TEHRAN, Aug 17 (Shana) -- Director of the International Affairs Department at National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Mohsen Qamsari said on Wednesday that more than 2,100,000 barrels of crude oil were exported in July.

Speaking to panel of Shana reporters on Wednesday, Qamsari said total amount of crude and gas condensate exports by Iran reached 2,740,000 bpd in July.

He said 600,000 bpd out of the total was gas condensates.

"Export of crude is now in a good level but crude exports has not yet touched that of the pre-sanction level," he said.

The official said prior to sanctions, 2,350,000 bpd crude was exported before sanctions but exports now have not touched the pre-sanctions level.

Export of gas condensates those times was less than now but exports of crude and gas condensate in combination have reached to the level before sanctions, said Qamsari, adding that one fourth of Iranian crude is exported to Europe and the rest to Asia.

The official said gas condensates are only exported to Asia. "Asia is major energy consumer worldwide and all producers have pinned hope on the market. Since Iran is located in the region, our priority is heading 63 percent of our exports to the region and the rest to Europe and other regional states."

To a question on return of Iranian oil's former customers like Sri Lanka, Qamsari said majority of Iranian oil customers have returned back to the cycle of oil purchase from Iran and the least countries, except Sri Lanka, have not bought oil from Iran.

Iran is now busy talking with certain Asian and European countries for oil sale and their list will be unveiled when is finalized.
