Zarif: US lagging behind implementing JCPOA

Tehran, Aug 16, IRNA Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Tuesday echoed grievances about US lagging behind implementing JCPOA, saying that advances were made with the European parties to the nuclear deal.

Zarif made the remarks in a meeting with members of parliamentary commission on national security and foreign policy.

Zarif attended the meeting of the parliamentary commission to answer questions of the MPs about whether or not implementation of JCPOA is satisfactory.

He expressed hope that the current positive atmosphere between Foreign Ministry and the parliamentary commission to continue.

The MPs asked different questions, Zarif said, from water situation in eastern provinces of Iran, implementation of joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, measures taken by neighboring states, issues related to Mina tragedy in Saudi Arabia, MKO acts in France, and the economic diplomacy of Foreign Ministry.

Zarif said that on the issue of lifting the sanctions on oil export, situation of oil export has come to normal thanks to the efforts of oil industry employees.

He said that action to bring back Iranian funds frozen abroad is accomplished, but, in implementation of JCPOA by the US there exist weaknesses.

He said that the European parties to JCPOA and Iranian government have exerted pressure on US to take practical action to implement the nuclear deal.
