President: Over 600,000 jobs created last year
Tehran, Aug 14, IRNA President Hassan Rouhani said on Sunday that more than 600,000 jobs were created in the country last year.

He made the remarks in a meeting with a group of ulema, elites and the war veterans.

President Rouhani elaborated on the positive impacts of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), saying that more jobs will be created this year.

'The oil price falls last year led to depression of economy of the oil exporting countries and their currencies were devaluated sometimes to a half.

Positive Positive effects of policymaking on Economy of Resistance are visible in Iran. Despite the oil price falls, Iran managed to experience 4.4 percent economic growth taking the oil into account according to the Statistics Center. Excluding oil, Iran managed to attain economic growth of 2.9 percent in the first three months, something unprecedented over the past decades.'

He said the JCPOA was a great job.

'However, it does not mean that the parties to JCPOA honored their commitments. During sanctions, even big states were not allowed to purchase Iranian oil but now the situation has changed.'

The president said one of the honors of the Iranian nation last year was that non-oil exports stood one billion dollars more than the total imports, something unprecedented in the past decades.

He said that Iran's exports have been 3.5 billion dollars more than the imports over the past four months of the current Iranian year.
