President: Iran economic growth hits 4.4%

Yasuj, Kohgiluyeh-Boyer Ahmad prov., Aug 14, IRNA President Hassan Rouhani said Iran's economy hit 4.4 percent in the first quarter of the current Iranian calendar year (started March 20, 2016).

President Rouhani made the remarks while addressing local people in Takhti Stadium in Yasuj.

In his 30th provincial tour, President Rouhani, arrived at Yasuj Airport on Sunday.

He said the Iranian government managed to improve the country's economic growth from -8.6 percent three years ago to +4.4 percent in the first quarter of this year.

The president said, 'Thanks to people's trust in their government and by forging a national unity, my administration managed to foster economic growth to 4.4 percent while the enemies tried to reduce oil prices to one third and one fourth.

During his two-day trip, the president will also meet with elites and war veterans of the province.

President Rouhani participates in provincial administrative council meeting and holds a press conference.

The president also takes part through video conference in the inauguration ceremony of six development projects.
