Iran, Pakistan sign MoU on scientific, tech. coop.

TEHRAN, Aug. 07 (MNA) A memorandum for scientific and technological cooperation has been signed by Irans Regional Centre for Information Science and Technology and Pakistan's Academy of Sciences.


Mohammad Khani, Director of Public Relations at the Regional Centre for Information Science and Technology (RICeST), said the MoU aims at expanding scientific cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad.

Under the MoU, professors, researchers and students through Pakistans Academy of Sciences can access various scientific sources currently available at the RICest, including Persian and Arabic papers, all Persian scientific journals as well as databases for general and topical articles, he said.

He went on to add, by signing the agreement, the two sides will be able to start exchanging their scientific publications such as books, magazines, technical and research reports, theses, etc.

Establishing electronic communications in order to receive and send internal and regional information in the fields of sciences and technology is among the main missions of the RICeSt, he stressed.

Regional Information Center for Science and Technology (RICeST) has the greatest collection of nation-wide and international information databases, standing on top of the Iranian information and technology centers. Through RICeST researchers can easily access Persian and non-Persian databases.
