Ali Larijani told reporters on the sidelines of a ceremony of National Journalists Day on Saturday that the government should have worked more seriously on the Plan to address major issues of recession and undesirable environment of businesses; I feel that the Plan still requires development to improve its overall quality; Parliament will work on this and Budget and Planning Organization would also provide help with the process, he told the press.
Larijani hailed the media on their national day; the media should be inquisitive about the performance of different branches of government; they should have long-term plans to attend their inherent duty of questioning the corridors of power, said the speaker of the Parliament.
He believed that Parliament should work with the cabinet in addressing pressing issue of the recession; the business environment is not conducive to boom and investors avoid such environments where the prospects are grim; on JCPOA, we still face sabotage by the Zionist regime and US congress had spared no attempt to abort the deals achievements, and to provide an image of Iran as high-risk country for investment, Larijani objected.
Speaker of the Parliament believed that the Islamic Republic of Iran acted rationally in making decisions in key issues, with the nuclear negotiations being single prominent issue; with JCPOA, we believe there has been some progress in some parts, however, the sabotage has been the dominant mode; in no time in history had the region been so chaotic as now; however, the country had trodden the right path to safety out of the pandemonium which beset the region, he told reporters.
Larijani also criticized the opponents of the foreign investments; some circles believe investors would wrap up and would leave as soon as make profits from their investments; with such mentality and current economic conditions, a growth of 8 per cent is at best chimerical; domestic investment should also contribute to the economy, he suggested.
