‘Turkey’s time to amend policies toward Syria’: MP

TEHRAN, Aug. 05 (MNA) – Senior Iranian MP, Boroujerdi, who chairs Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission said on Thursday that Turkey should revise its policies toward Syria.

“Now is an opportune moment for Turkey to modify its policies toward Syria and adopt policies that would contribute to the security and stability of the region,” said Iran’s Alaeddin Boroujerdi.

The Head of Iranian Parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, who met with President Bashar al-Assad of Syria on Thursday after meetings with Syrian prime minister and speaker of parliament, sat at a presser to brief the reporters on his latest evaluation of the regional developments.

The senior Iranian MP articulated that pro-terrorism regimes should be slammed and impeached by the nation of their own countries and by the countries that have been hurt by terrorism.

“The events that took place in pro-terrorist countries, proved that terrorism bears no border,” contended boroujerdi, “Iran’s stance along with Syria and Iraq against terrorism is an unchangeable policy and Iran would continue support for these two countries.”

Mr. Boroujerdi described the anti-Syrian plots of the US and Israeli regime as plans to weaken resistance in the region and reiterated that Iran will continue its support for Syria against the US and its allies.

“The visit of this parliamentarian delegation to Syria was in line with the Iranian policies of backing resistence against the Zionist regime,” reassured the veteran MP, “We are here today to announce that under the fire of tens of thousands of terrorists, who are backed by their international supporters, we still keep company with the nation and the legal government of Syria.”

Boroujerdi contended that the only solution to the Syrian crisis is the Syrian-Syrian dialogue free from foreigners’ intervention or pressure; one that the UN is responsible to put into practice.

“The latest victories mark an important turning point in the history of Syrian crisis and the UN should prove its good intention in helping to evacuate the citizens trapped in the western side of the Aleppo,” underlined the Iranian MP referring to the latest achievements of the Syrian Army in gaining parts of the major city of Aleppo and flanking the linking lines between the terrorist groups, “I am sure that Syria will triumph over terrorists and the terrorists who have killed and displaced thousands of civilian citizens will be crushed; surely peace and stability will be restored in this country.”
