Why Washington concerned about loss of terrorists as Aleppo op unfolds?

Alwaght- The US administration views Aleppo retaking from the terrorists as synonymous with bolstering the Syrian government and its supporters. Therefore, it so far spared no efforts to impede realization of the Syrian army triumph in the city.

The White House Deputy Press Secretary Eric Schultz has commented on the fresh anti-terror operation, saying that Washington was highly worried about the situation in Aleppo. Schultz continued that at the time being the US held serious doubts about Russian measures in Aleppo.

Aleppo has been divided since 2012 between the Syrian forces and an array of terrorist groups including al-Nusra Front.

In past few days the Syrian army with an unceasing Russian air cover started operation to retake Aleppo. Damascus and Moscow said along with their counterterror operation they were running a humanitarian aid campaign in Aleppo as they advanced in some parts of the city.

On Monday, Russia lost a transport helicopter after it was shot down over Idlib by a missile that was fired by militants.

The expressing of worry about the status of Aleppo by the Americans is coming while the highly trusted evidences show that Washington itself has been the key creator of the crisis in the city.

In other words, seizing control of Aleppo and other cities is an outcome of ongoing supports of the US and its Western and Arab allies for terrorist groups like ISIS, al-Nusra, and other takfiri groups in Syria.

Earlier, the US Department of Defense and the CIA were bickering over support of the terrorist groups in Aleppo while Moscow was wiping out the US-backed forces.

The Department of Defense officials said that they were not eager to support the rebels in the city of Aleppo as they knew that they were affiliated with al-Qaeda. However, the CIA which supports those groups rejected that claim, arguing that alliances of convenience in the face of a mounting Russian-led offensive have created marriage of battlefield necessity, not ideology.

It appears that in the US the biggest support is leaning towards CIA's supportive positions on the terrorists fighting the Syrian government in Aleppo. A US official who supports the intelligence community's position told The Daily Beast website: "It is strange thing that the Department of Defense hall chatter mimics Russian propaganda on the terrorist groups."

In fact what matters for Washington is the objective of the terrorist groups. They are fighting the forces of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. This appears to be a shared goal of the US and the anti-Damascus militants. This is what presents a linking point.

Another significant point is the cut and dried strategy of Washington about the terrorist forces active in Syria. Washington is basically against any moves for weakening the terrorist and takfiri groups by the Syrian military and its backers. This comes while the Syrian forces appear to have recently taken the initiative on the ground, and are dealing a blow to the opposing forces. Russia, on the other side, since starting its air campaign in Syria in September 2015 has carried out thousands of air raids, destroying major command and operation centers of the terrorists.

The recent Russian and Syrian advances tipped the scales in favor of President Assad, something began to set off the alarm bells for Washington as it during the war in Syria went to great lengths to remove the Syrian leader.

So, any move weakening and obliterating the terrorists is faced with direct opposing stances of White House, and a heavy-handed media propagandaof course ensues.

This principle is true on the underway Aleppo operation.

Still another point has something to do with the US approaches on Syrian peace talks. Earlier as the ceasefire took effect in the country, Washington delivered to the anti-Syrian forces massive military equipment through Turkish borders, using the truce to strengthen the takfiri groups.

In fact, the US found the "cessation of hostilities deal" the best chance to restore the ruined power of its proxy terrorism, not a chance for allowing the peace to engulf the war-torn country.

Keeping standing the humanitarian crisis in Syria is the essential intention of US presently. Washington officials are well aware that the larger range of crisis is, the bigger the powers of the White House for intervention in the region would be. Therefore, a win in Aleppo over the terrorists means liberation of the city and then liberation of Raqqa, the stronghold of ISIS in Syria and the capital of the self-proclaimed Islamic caliphate.

The US officials, both Democrats and Republicans, are in accord with each other over this issue, and are admitting the direct relation between enlargement of crisis in Syria and increase of their potentials for further interventions in West Asia region.
