Islamic human rights attaches importance to democracy, cultural diversity

Tehran, Aug 3, IRNA – Secretary of High Council for Human Rights affiliated to the Judiciary said democracy and cultural diversity have special status in the Islamic Human Rights.

Mohammad Javad Larijani made the remarks here Wednesday at the ceremony on Islamic Human Rights Award presentation in Tehran.

‘All accusations levelled at Iran on human rights in the past years have been properly responded and our answers are available as official documents at the United Nations,’ said Larijani.

Iran’s Judiciary is the pioneer in furtherance of human rights’ ideology based on Islam, he noted.

Also, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei attaches great importance to the Islamic human rights, he stressed.

‘Unfortunately, the words and actions of the Western countries are not the same when dealing with human rights issues,’ he noted.

They impose their interpretations of human rights on Islam and Islamic countries, he said.
