Russia and Iran agreed to continue developing cooperation in the banking sector.

MOSCOW (Sputnik)�� Moscow and Tehran agreed to�continue developing cooperation in�the banking sector, Russian Energy Minister and ?o-?hair of�the Iran-Russia intergovernmental commission Alexander Novak said Friday.

"We agreed that it was necessary to�continue work in�the area of�developing relations in�the banking sphere. This is the main issue on�the agenda today, as�the development of�the potential for�interbank lending, opening accounts, mutual crediting, provides an additional opportunity and an impetus to�our companies to�ensure the expansion of�cooperation," Novak said after�meeting Iranian Communication Minister Mahmoud Vaezi, who co-chairs the commission.


The meeting, set to�take place on�the sidelines of�the Russian-Azerbaijani-Iranian summit, is expected to�focus on�the situation in�Syria, Iraq and the surge of�terrorist activity in�Europe, among�other topics.
