Tehran, July 28, IRNA – Representative of Jame Al-Mustafa accompanying Iranian delegation in Nigeria said that Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif expressed deep concern over health conditions of Sheikh Ebrahim Zakzaki during his meetings with Nigerian officials.
Hojjatoleslam Ali Fallah-Zaroumi added that Zarif during his meetings with Nigerian officials, including the country’s president and foreign minister, seriously urged freedom of Zakzaki’s as a person who has invited all Islamic sects to maintain unity.
According to him, Zarif underlined that Zakzaki’s freedom will certainly leave fruitful impacts on countering extremists such as Boko Haram in Nigeria.
Zarif also reminded Nigerian officials of Zakzaki’s need for treatment.
Zarif started his West African trip on Sunday with Nigeria as his first leg of tour.
