FM: Boost of economic ties with Africa top priority

Tehran, July 28, IRNA Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said development of economic relations with African states is Irans top priority.


He made the remarks in a meeting with Guinean Foreign Minister Makale Traore on Wednesday.

Zarif voiced hope for giving a boost to economic relations between Tehran and African capitals particularly Conakry.

He praised high-level political ties between Iran and Guinea and said that removal of illegal sanctions has paved the way for further cooperation between the two states.

It is time to revive programs that were stopped due to sanctions, Zarif added.

Guinea Conakry foreign minister for her part called for promotion of cooperation with Iran.

Iranian delegations trip to Guinea Conakry can result in win-win agreements, she said.

The official added that there are good potentials for cooperation between the two states in fields of trade, industry and agriculture.

Iranian top diplomat has already visited Nigeria, Ghana, and Guinea-Conakry. He is also scheduled to visit Mali as the last leg of his West African tour.
