Farhadi’s latest flick goes to Toronto filmfest.

TEHRAN, Jul. 27 (MNA) – ‘The Salesman’ by Academy Award winner Asghar Farhadi will be screened in the 41st Toronto International Film Festival in Canada.

Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), as one of the most prestigious events of its kind in the world, have listed Asghar Farhadi’s latest production ‘The Salesman’ among its 2016 film lineup.

‘The Salesman’ won two awards at the 69th staging of Cannes - best screenplay, and best actor, won by Shahab Hosseini. It was also awarded with the top prize at the 34th Munich Film Festival in Germany.

‘The Salesman’ narrates the story of Emad and Rana who, forced out of their apartment due to dangerous construction work on a neighboring building, move into a new flat in the center of Tehran. An incident linked to the previous tenant will dramatically change the young couple’s life.

The TIFF16 will open with Antoine Fuqua’s 'The Magnificent Seven' on September 8 and run through September 18.
