TEHRAN, Jul. 20 (MNA) � The 1st �World Conference of Mayors and Councilors 2016� has been inaugurated at Tehran Milad Tower on Wed. with the presence of President Rouhani and over 2000 participants.


President Hassan Rouhani has inaugurated the first �World Conference of Mayors and Councilors 2016� with a focus on urban management, urban planning, tourism, crisis management and urban economics.

The conference aims at urban development, raising awareness about the latest scientific achievements and researches, solving the problems of urban traffic and air pollution, increasing interactions between institutions and governmental organizations and universities for the efficient use of modern science in the field of urban management, urban planning and urban sustainable development.

Over 2000 participants from more than 40 countries and international organizations including Spain, Germany, Denmark, Mexico and Turkey are taking part in this two-day event.

In addition to President Rouhani, Iran�s Interior Minister, ICT Minister, Minister of Roads and Urban Development, foreign mayors and international investors will also deliver speeches at the conference.

Educational workshops, professional panels and session on related topics will also be held alongside the conference.
