Homs: ISIL positions hit by Syrian airstrikes on oil-rich regions

TEHRAN (FNA)- Syrian fighter jets, in several rounds of combat sorties, pounded ISIL’s positions in al-Sha’er energy-rich region in Eastern Homs, pinning the militants down in their strongholds for several hours.

The Syrian warplanes bombed heavily ISIL’s concentration centers in al-Sha’er region and near the village of Huweisis in Eastern Homs, inflicting major damage on the military-logistical vehicles of the terrorist group.

 

 

In the meantime, ISIL’s positions near the village of al-Qajar came under the heavy bombardments of the Syrian army aircraft, in which tens of the terrorists were killed.

Meantime on Monday, a notorious field commander of the al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front was killed in heavy fighting with the Syrian Army troops in Northern countryside of Homs city.

Ahmad Hamzeh, two non-Syrian terrorists and ten more militants were killed in clashes between al-Nusra and army soldiers near the village of al-Mahatta.
