First evidence is coming' that Iran not connected to 9/11 attacks

The Congress of the United States will release on Friday a confidential report on the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

The twenty eight pages ofthe report contain information onalleged ties ofthe Saudi Arabian government tothe 9/11 hijackers, CNN reported. Thus, allegations ina New York court ofIrans involvement inthe attacks will lose its basis ofevidence.
"The first evidence that Iran was not involved inthe attack is coming. Moreover, duringthe hearings Iran was never mentioned. The investigation was partially confidential. But then and now it has been clear that Saudi Arabia was connected tothe attacks, not Iran," Hossein Sheikholeslam, a senior aide toIrans parliamentary speaker, told Sputnik.

According tohim, it was found that the terrorists were either Saudi Arabian citizens or they lived and trained inthe kingdom.

Three months ago, a court inNew York ordered Iran topay over $10 billion indamages tofamilies ofthe victims ofthe 9/11 attacks, even though there was no evidence ofTehrans direct connection tothe attack.

Judge George Daniels ruled that Iran actively supported the terrorists who carried outattacks inNew York, Washington and Pennsylvania. The attacks claimed the lives of2,977 people.

The court found that Iran failed todefend itself againstclaims that it was involved inthe attacks and was responsible forthe damages. Moreover, Judge Daniels did not provide arguments why Iran was involved inthe hearings.

At the same time, he found that Saudi Arabia did not provided material support tothe attackers and ruled that Riyadh had sovereign immunity.
Then, Sheikholeslam described the ruling asan "evil joke."

"I never heard aboutthis ruling and Im very much surprised because the judge had no reason whatsoever toissue such a ruling Iran never took part inany court hearings related tothe events ofSeptember 11, 2001. [] All this looks likeanother evil joke bythe Americans," Sheikholeslam commented.
