Nobakht: Boeing not only option for renovating Iran's air fleet

Tehran, July 12, IRNA Government Spokesman Mohammad-Baqer Nobakht said on Tuesday that Boeing is not the only company for renovation of Iran's air fleet.

Speaking at a press conference, Nobakht said, 'We have also engaged in talks with Airbus and will use any opportunity to renovate our air fleet.'

Nobakht made the remarks in response to a reporter asking what would be the Iranian government's response to amendments passed by the US House of Representatives last week that would block the use of Department of Treasury funds for granting licenses for export or re-export of commercial passenger aircraft and their parts and services as enabled by Iran Nuclear Deal.

He said that this issue has not passed the legal procedures. However he noted that Iran will complain to whatever contrary to Iran Deal and will spare no effort to take its rights.

Speaking at the Farnborough Air Show in London on Monday, Boeing CEO Dennis Muilenburg said that Boeing is simply asking for 'equal treatment' if Boeing is denied a license to do business with Iran, no US company should be allowed to sell planes to the country.
