TEHRAN, Jul. 04 (MNA) Irans former ambassador to Bahrain condemned Bahraini regimes move to revoke citizenship of the countrys most senior Shia cleric, Sheikh Isa Qassim.


Irans formerDeputy FM for Arab-African Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahiansaid Bahrains decision to revoke citizenship of Sheikh Qassim is a part of Bahraini rulers reliance on aliens and their secret relations with Israel, a move which will certainly damage Al Khalifas image.

Pointing to his meeting with Sheikh Qassim during his tenure in Bahrain, Amir-Abdollahian said he clearly is an intellectual and prominent cleric, a brave fighter and the one who strongly believes in the democratic solution.

Enjoying a proper understanding of the regional situation, Sheikh Qassim prevented young people resorting to violence through explaining the facts of society and adopting clear positions, Zarif's advisorasserted.

Amir-Abdollahian reiterated that the move against one of the noblest citizens of Bahrain will create a rift between the people and the government of Bahrain.

He added that Bahrain's government must know that the only solution for the countrys issues is political and the inefficient methods will never help solve the real crisis between the people and the government of Bahrain.

Al Khalifa must rely on his own people, he noted.
