Israel, Saudi Arabia unify to distract world from Quds: MP

June 28, The Iran Project – An Iranian Member of Parliament says Saudi Arabia and the Zionist regime unify to divert the world’s public opinion from Quds to the Middle East issues.

Speaking to a reporter on Tuesday, Valiollah Nanva Kenari, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Majlis said Saudi Arabia and the Zionist regime have unified to divert the world’s attention form the issue of Palestine to the ME issues.

Nanva Kenari referred to revolutionary action of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, to name last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as International Quds Day and said in this day, all Muslims and freedom loving people show a revolutionary action to the world to explain Imam (Khomeini)’s stance toward the Palestinians and denounce those who seek to distort this position.

Stressing on Saudi Arabia and the Zionist alliance to undermine the revolutionary movement against al-Quds’ occupation, he said the United States has also played an important role.

Ramezan Sharif the head of the Intifada (Uprising) and Quds Center at Iran’s Islamic Propagation Coordination Council, said earlier that the international Quds day has a major influence on the issue of Palestine and prevents it from sliding into oblivion.

The International Quds Day is an annual event during which demonstrators express their solidarity with the Palestinian people and opposition to the occupation of the Palestinian territories by the Zionist regime of Israel.

The day is also seen as the legacy of the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, who officially declared the last Friday of the holy month of Ramadan as International Quds Day back in 1979.
