CBI says Iran's inflation stands at 9.7%

Tehran, June 25, IRNA Central Bank of Iran (CBI) announced on Saturday that Iran's inflation over the 12 months ending in the Iranian month of Khordad dropped to 9.7%.


Meanwhile, the Statistical Center of Iran (SCI) last week put inflation of prices in the urban areas at 9.5 percent over the the past 12 months leading to Khordad.

The SCI said that the country's point-to-point inflation stood at 6.1%.

Government spokesman Mohammad Baqer Nobakht announced on Tuesday that the country's inflation declined to a single digit.

Addressing an open session of Majlis on Tuesday, Nobakht stressed that the country's inflation dropped from 10.2 to 9.5 percent in the month of Khordad (May 21-June 20).

He added that the country has seen a decline in inflation during the past three years.

Nobakht also described the decline of country's inflation to a single digit as a great achievement.
