Tehran, June 20, IRNA - Government spokesman Mohammad Baqer Nobakht announced here on Tuesday that the country's inflation rate has declined to a single digit.
Addressing an open session of Majlis on Tuesday, Nobakht stressed that the country's inflation rate dropped from 10.2 to 9.5 percent in the month of Khordad (May 21-June 20).
He added the country has seen a decline in inflation figures during the past three years.
Nobakht also described the declining of country's inflation rate to a single digit as a great achievement.
He reiterated that the country's point-to-point inflation stood at 6.1 percent in the same period.
The last month point-to-point inflation was 6.8 percent.
Meanwhile, the Statistical Center of Iran (SCI) announced on Tuesday that the urban inflation rate during the past 12 months leading to Khordad dropped to 9.5 percent.
The SCI, too, said that the country point-to-point inflation has stood at 6.1.
