Iran ready to help Syria with police training

TEHRAN (FNA)- Commander of Iran's Law Enforcement Police Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari stressed the country's preparedness to transfer its experiences to Syria in any field of police operations.

"We consider support for the Syrian government and nation as our responsibility, and based on Supreme Leader's guidelines and remarks, Iran supports the countries which fight against the arrogant powers," Ashtari said in a meeting with Syrian Deputy Interior Minister Khalid Abdullah Kheder in Tehran on Wednesday.

He underlined the Iranian police forces' preparedness to share experiences and skills with their Syrian counterparts, and said, "Thanks God, today the Law Enforcement Police of Iran enjoy desirable capabilities and the ground is prepared for Syria to use the Iranian police's capabilities and potentials."

In similar remarks last June, General Ashtari stressed the country's readiness to share experiences with the Syrian police forces.

"Given the capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran's police in fighting organized crimes and terrorism and scientific discovering of crime in the real world and the internet, we are ready, with all our possibilities and capacity, for cooperation, training and transferring experiences to Syria in various fields of policing," Ashtari said in a meeting with Syrian Interior Minister Mohammad Ibrahim al-Shaar in Tehran.

"We consider Syria as a brotherly country and are always prepared for cooperation and assistance to the country," he added.

Ashtari also wished success for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, his government and the Syrian people.
