Zarif hopes Iran-Sweden economic ties to return to its previous place

Stockholm, June 1, IRNA Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif in a meeting with Swedish Minister of Enterprise and Innovation expressed hope for Iran-Sweden economic relations to return to its previous place in the post-sanctions era.


Zarif, leading a 60-member trade-economic delegation in the third leg of his trip to Europe arrived in Sweden on Tuesday evening on an official visit to discuss bilateral ties with senior Swedish officials.

Zarif started his schedule in Sweden by visiting Swedish Minister of Enterprise and Innovation Mikael Damberg.

Elaborating on economic and human capacities of Iran, Zarif said that Iran used to be Sweden's first trade partner in West Asia and North Africa.

He said transport fleet renewal, air pollution, new energies, and waste management are spme areas for developing ties.

Iranian Foreign Minister is also scheduled to participate in Iran-Sweden joint economic-commercial meeting.
