Tehran, June 1, IRNA - Iranian film director Asghar Farhadi said that due to his several trips to other countries, he believed that Iranian cinema is one of the best in the world.


The appreciation ceremony of Farhadi's 'The Salesman' was held on Tuesday in the presence of cinema officials in Khaneh Cinema (Cinema House).

Farhadi said that respecting Iranian cinema is not something new but it is rooted in the past, adding what is surprising is that Iranian cinematographers succeeded in achieving these honors with the least freedom.

According to famous American film director Jim Jarmusch, Iranian cinema is 'the World Cinema Garden', Farhadi added.

'The Salesman' directed by Farhadi is the only movie which succeeded to win two out of the eight prizes at 36th Cannes Film Festival.
