TEHRAN, May 26 (MNA) � The former foreign minister of Iran said that the history of US foreign policy proves the country's malevolence towards Iran.�I am skeptical about the intention of Americans toward Iran,� said Head of Center for Strategic Research of Expediency Council Ali Akbar Velayati on Thursday in Iranian Northeastern city of Mashhad. He made the remark on the sidelines of a national conference on the civilization of Iran and Islam.

�Iran is insistent in its adherernce to its principle rights and will never be affected by the inculcations of the US or its regional allies in the Middle East,� reaffirmed Velayati.

The veteran diplomat, who chaired Iran�s Ministry of Foreign Affairs between 1981 and 1997, highlighted that the Islamic Republic of Iran invests no hope on any benevolent� behavior from the US, and "Iran will do what is good for the interests of its own and its people."
