Tehran, May 26, IRNA Deputy Energy Minister for Water Affairs and Sewage Treatment Rahim Meydani announced that Iran and Australia are to develop cooperation in water sectors.
He made the announcement here Wednesday in a meeting with Australian Ambassador to Tehran Paul Foley.
Noting that the climate in Iran and Australia have many features in common, Meydani voiced Iran's willingness to use Austria's experiences in management of water resources.
In near future, he added, different meetings between water research institutes of the two countries will be held to review scientific relations in the area of water.
For his part, the Australian ambassador said his country has gained valuable experiences in preservation of water.
Foley added his country is willing to exchange knowledge and have cooperation with Iranian scholars in the fields of water and its management.
