Beijing, May 20, IRNA Former Japanese prime minister Yasuo Fukuda expressed hope on Friday that cooperation between Iran and Japan will further deepen in different areas.
Fukuda was speaking in a meeting with Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi who is on a visit to Tokyo.
Referring to reaching a landmark nuclear deal between Iran and the six world powers last year, Fukuda expressed hope the deal would help give a boost to Tehran-Tokyo ties.
In his two-day visit to Japan, Araqchi also met with the members of Japan's International Friendship Exchange Council (FEC), the members of the parliamentary friendship group of Liberal-Democratic Party of Japan (LDP) and his Japanese counterpart Shinsuke Sugiyama.
