Envoy blasts UN on failure to prevent terrorists entering Syria

TEHRAN (FNA)- Syrias UN envoy Bashar Jafari lashed out at the UN Security Council on the international body failure to prevent the terrorists entering Syria.

In a speech delivered on the Extremism Ideology, Jafari said the UNSC failed to prevent the exportation and arming of terrorists, controlling borders and blocking media that incite bloodshed in Syria, Al-Manar reported.

Syria has repeatedly warned of the threat posed by terrorists as a common threat to the entire world, indicating that the role played by the countries exporting terrorism cannot be ignored.

Five years on, we have been kept telling you get your hands off SyriaStop meddling in our internal affairs, Jafari said.

Earlier this week, a Russian request to add two Syrian militant groups in a United Nations terror blacklist was rejected by Britain, France, the United States, and Ukraine during a Security Council session.

Russia had requested that Jaysh al-Islam and Ahrar al-Sham be added to the sanctions list because of their ties to Al-Qaeda and the ISIL terrorist groups that already have been blacklisted.
