Iran ranks 1st in producing neuroscience in region

Tehran, May 3, IRNA - Iran ranked first in producing neuroscience in the region, an official with Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology said.

Mohammad Taghi Joghataei told IRNA on Tuesday that based on Scientific Journal Rankings (SJR), Turkey ranked first in 2013 but in 2014 Iran stood in the first position in neuroscience.

He added that Iran ranked 24th in neuroscience in the world but regarding other neuroscience fields Iran ranked 18th in behavioral neuroscience and 20th in molecular and cellular neuroscience.

Joghataei said that Turkey is our rival in behavioral, molecular, and cellular neuroscience in the region while we have Japan and South Korea in Asia.

On the submission of articles in the field of neuroscience, he reiterated that the number of articles in the field of molecular and cellular neuroscience and behavioral neuroscience is increasing and in other fields like artificial intelligence (AI) we progessed well.

He noted that in cognitive rehabilitation we have to work a bit harder.
