Austrian company to build hospitals in Iran

TEHRAN (Tasnim) Irans Social Security Organization and a major Austrian firm signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of two hospitals in the Islamic Republic.

The MoU for the construction of the hospitals was signed on Wednesday during a ceremony attended by representatives of Irans Social Security Organization and the Austrian company.

During the ceremony, Managing Director of Iranian Social Security Organization Seyed Taghi Nourbakhsh said the hospitals will be built in the cities of Shiraz in south and Tabriz in northwest of the country.

He added that building another hospital in the holy city of Mashhad is also on the agenda.

Nourbakhsh went on to say that they will be built with the aim of offering better services to the insured and pensioners.

The MoU between Iran and the Austrian company came against the backdrop of a wave of renewed interest in ties with the Islamic Republic after Tehran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France and Germany) reached a nuclear deal on July 14, 2015 and started implementing it on January 16.

The comprehensive nuclear deal, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), terminated all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran.
