Official: Astana-Tehran direct flights to resume in June

TEHRAN (FNA)- Kazakhstan's national airline confirmed that it will resume its direct flights from Astana to Tehran and vice versa in June.

"The travelers will be able to take direct flights from Astana Airport to Tehran from June 2 when the three-day weekly service will be launched," Managing Director of Air Astana Ibrahim Konlil told reporters on Tuesday.

He reiterated that three flights per week will be established between Astana and Tehran.

Air Astana is the most accredited and experienced airline of Kazakhstan that has been introduced as best airline of Eurasia.

Last week, Tehran and Astana signed nine cooperation pacts on Monday to expand their bilateral ties in different areas, including trade and economy.

The memoranda of understanding (MoU) were designed to strengthen cooperation in industry, commerce, investment and transportation.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his Kazakh counterpart Nursultan Nazarbayev witnessed the signing ceremony after the delegation level talks between the two countries in Tehran.

The 9 cooperation pacts between public bodies of Iran and Kazakhstan are in areas of agriculture, trade, transport, technology, industry, banking, energy, investment, extradition of prisoners and shipping.
