South Pars to start using five new platforms by year end

Abadan, Khuzestan prov, April 18, IRNA Managing Director of the Iranian Offshore Engineering and Construction Company Gholamreza Manouchehri said South Pars energy hub will start fully implementing five new platforms by end of current Iranian year (to end March 20, 2017).


He told IRNA that about 100 million cubic meters will add to Irans gas production capacity with implementation of these platforms.

He also noted that new platforms will boost the countrys gas condensate production by 160 thousand barrels.

Noting that platforms belonging to phases 20 and 21 togetehr with two other ones in A19 and B19 will become operational this year, he said the production capacity of C19 platform will go up by to one billion cubic meters per day from the present 500 million cubic meters once fully implemented.

The official stressed that Irans failure to develop joint oil fields will certainly inflict a major loss to the country.

Elaborating on the advantages of implementation of South Pars phases, he said implementation of each of the phases will add to the countrys daily gas production by 2 million cubic meters and to its gas condensate production by 40 thousand barrels.

According to the official, the implementation of these projects will bring the country between 5-6 billion dollars of daily revenues.

Manouchehri said the construction of a deck for Forouzan gas field is underway by Iranian expert companies.
