Passing anti-Iran articles in OIC summit serves US, Israel interests

Tehran, April 16, The Iran Project An Iranian political expert has said that passing 4 anti-Iran articles by Saudis in(OIC) summit was against the organizations objectives.

Referring to the 13th summit of Islamic Cooperation Organization in Istanbul, Iranian political expert, Parviz Sarvari condemned Saudi Arabia for passing 4 anti-Iran articles and said their measure was against the organizations objectives.

Saudi Arabia has chosen a path that will lead to insecurity and instability and destroy the Islamic nations achievements, Sarvari said.

The inclusion of anti-Iran and anti-resistance articles in the summits final statement was a great service to the Israelis and the Americans, he added.

Criticizing the OIC for its structural and organizational weakness, he said unfortunately, organizations and institutions whose raison d'etre is to support Palestinians and make efforts to maintain the Islamic unity and solidarity are dominated by some countries like Saudi Arabia, which try to advance their own interests using their financial resources.

He went on to say that the OICs recent actions are in support of the enemies of Islam in the region, especially America and Israel.

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi also criticized the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) earlier for being dominated by certain member states and its failureto avoid bias in its decision-making processes.

Araqchi, attendedthe organizations 13th summit in the Turkish city of Istanbul, said on Thursday that4 anti-Iran articles of the event were planned and passed by Saudis while the Iranian officials were off the meeting.

Also, in protest to 4 anti-Iranian articles in the final statement of the OIC summit, President Rouhani, FM Zarif and accompanying delegation did not attend the closing meeting.

The two-day summit kicked off in the Turkish city on April 14, with leaders from over 30 countries, includingIranian President Hassan Rouhani who addressed the summit,in attendance.

This Summit dominated by the Saudis (including the Sectary General ) has further divided the Islamic world. Saudis are determined to create aggression in the region to hide their domestic weaknesses. What Saudi needs is reforms and political/economic and social freedoms.
