Iran’s Rouhani, Turkey’s Erdogan hold talks in Ankara

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani holds talks with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan in the capital, Ankara.

The two presidents met on Saturday, a day after the conclusion of the 13th summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in the Turkish city of Istanbul.

Rouhani and Erdogan are scheduled to co-chair a high-level cooperation council meeting following bilateral talks.

Also on Saturday, Iranian, Turkish officials signed several agreements in the presence of Rouhani and Erdogan to promote cooperation between the two countries.

The Iranian president met Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu earlier on Saturday in Istanbul. The two sides stressed the importance of fighting terrorism as a common threat to all regional countries and the entire world.
