Tehran, April 15, IRNA There is no plan for holding a meeting between Iranian and Saudi delegations, Deputy Foreign Minister for Legal and International Affairs Abbas Araqchi said on Thursday.
He made the remarks during a phone conversation with Iran's state TV.
Araqchi denied some news reports on possible meeting between Iranian and Saudi officials on the sidelines of the 13th Summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in the Turkish city of Istanbul.
President Hassan Rouhani heading a delegation arrived in Istanbul Wednesday night. He has held talks with officials from Afghanistan, Azerbaijan Republic, Indonesia, Oman and Algeria.
The OIC foreign ministers held a meeting prior to the Summit also attended by Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.
Rouhani said upon arrival that world Muslims expect the Istanbul summit to echo the voice of unity, solidarity and cooperation of the Islamic World.
