Anzali, Gilan prov, April 14, IRNA � The Islamic Republic has in practice proved that it has the determination to fight terrorism, says Iran's defense minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan.


'To stand against terrorism, we need global determination, consensus and will,' the minister said at a ceremony in the port city of Anzali on Thursday.

'Iran has revealed it has the determination to fight terrorism,' Dehghan said.

Speaking at the ceremony held for delivering the Gilan 2000 vessel maintenance facility to the Army Naval Forces in the port city, the General said that today the Islamic Republic's Armed forces are a guarantee for the regional security.

'Despite their claims to stand against the Takfiri terrorists, some countries are supporting these groups by offering them financial, wherewithal, logistic and military aids, said the minister, adding that they do this without any shame.

General Dehghan warned against the tyrants who are taking actions against nations and liberation movements in the region.

Iran's people and armed forces will back those who resist hegemonic powers in the region, he said.

'Those countries that claim they are fighting terrorism, if they are really looking to establish security, should act against Takfiri terrorists with determination and seriousness.'
