Tehran, April 13, IRNA � President Hassan Rouhani arrived in Istanbul, Turkey, on Wednesday night to attend the Summit of Leaders of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).


The 13th Summit of Leaders of OIC is to kick off on Thursday and President Rouhani is scheduled to deliver speech.

During 2-day meeting, Rouhani will have bilateral meetings with number of heads of Islamic states on the sidelines of the meeting.

The OIC foreign ministers held meeting prior to the Summit in presence of Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif.

President Rouhani said that Muslims of the world expect the Summit of Leaders in Istanbul to echo the voice of unity, solidarity and cooperation of the Muslim World.

The OIC was founded in 1962 and now it has 57 member countries from four continents.

The Summit meeting of the OIC Leaders is held every three years.
