TEHRAN (ISNA)- Commander of Iranian Army's Ground Forces Brigadier General Ahmad-Reza Pourdastan said the country has armed helicopters with laser guided missiles and produced armored cover for helicopters for the first time in the country.

�We used liquid armor which has been designed by experts of Ground Force of Iranian Army to make our helicopters secure against 7.62 and 12.7 caliber weapons,� he said.

He said one of the Army�s measures has been boosting flight systems in night helicopters which came true.

Iran has tried to arm helicopters with laser guided missiles, he said, adding it would boost capability of Iran�s helicopters in proxy wars.

Laser-guided missiles are of longer range comparing to Tav missiles, he continued.
