Daesh terrorists repelled after attempts to enter Iran - Army commander

Daesh terrorists were killed after attempting to enter Iran.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) Daesh terrorists have been making attempts toenter Iran, Commander ofIrans Army Ground Force Brig. Gen. Ahmad Reza Pourdastan said Monday.

"In February-March, IS militants entered Iran, two terrorists that had suicide belts were immediately killed bythe ground troops," Pourdastan was quoted assaying bythe Tasnim news agency.

He did not specify what parts ofthe country the terrorists entered butnoted that the country's borders were safe atthe moment.

Daesh group, which is banned inmany countries including Russia, is mainly active inSyria and Iraq, where it has seized large areas. It also claimed responsibility fora number ofterrorist attacks inEurope, including the November attacks inParis and the recent suicide bombings inBrussels.
