Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said that various institutions, and ministries of Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan had already started cooperation in the counterterrorism area.
BAKU (Sputnik) Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan should step uptheir efforts incountering terrorism, aswell asorganized crime, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said Thursday.
Earlier inthe day, Mammadyarov, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif held talks inBaku.
"We should work more actively ona trilateral basis tofight againstterrorism, extremism, organized crime and drug trafficking," Mammadyarov said followingthe meeting.
He added that various institutions, and ministries ofthe three countries had already started cooperation inthe counterterrorism area.
Countries acrossthe globe have been boosting their security measures followinga series ofrecent terrorist attacks, including attacks onBrussels onMarch 22 and onParis onNovember 13.
