CBI head meets with European Central Bank leaders

BERLIN, Apr. 06 (MNA) CBI head met on Tuesday with leaders of EU banks and financial institutions in Frankfurt.


Governor of Central Bank of Iran Valiollah Seif met with Mario Draghi, President of European Central Bank (ECB), Head of Deutsche Bank Jrgen Fitschen and Head of Managing Board of KFW Bankengruppe Ulrich Schrder in Frankfurt.

In his meetings with leaders of EU and German banks, Seif discussed normalization of bank relations with Iran.

He also has a meeting with presidents of some of German banks and financial institutions. Central to the talks were cooperation and facilitation of banking transactions between Iran and Germany.

Seif, previously, paid an official visit to Frankfurt, Germany, in November 2015 to participate in Iran-EU investment conference, a two-day conference on trade and investment opportunities in post-sanctions era.

During the visit then, Saif had a meetings with representatives of banks and banking institutions as well as with Federal Minister of Finance Dr. Wolfgang Schuble, with the aim of normalizing banking relations between the two countries.
