Tehran, March 29, IRNA � Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei pardoned and commuted jail terms of a number of eligible inmates.


On the eve of the establishment anniversary of the Isalmic Republic in Iran in 1979 which coincides with the birth anniversary of the holy daughter of Islamic Prophet this year, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution agreed with Judiciary Chief's proposal for pardoning and commuting prison terms of a number of country's inmates on Tuesday.

In a letter to the Supreme Leader, Judiciary Chief Ayatollah Sadeq Amoli Larijani proposed the pardoning and commuting prison terms of the inmates in accordance with his legal authorities and observing a series of conditions for the pardoning.
