Iran to boost petchem industry development: CEO

TEHRAN, March 27 (Shana) Managing director of National Petrochemical Company (NPC) said Iran is set to increase production and export of its petchem products in a bid to implement the resistive economy policies as stipulated by the Supreme Leader.

Thanks to proper infrastructure and unique capabilities, the petrochemical industry can transform Irans economy and facilitate approaching the goals forecast in the Vision 1404 document relying on the principles of the resistive economy, Marziyeh Shahdaei said.

NPC, she added, plans to attract new investors and financiers for development projects, complete unfinished projects, increase production output, transform update technology and know-how, and identify new infrastructures with the assistance of the private sector in the new Iranian year (started March 20).

Saying that the petchem industry pioneers in the export of non-oil products with the 40 percent share, she announced that NPC is determined to raise its stake in the export market.

The industry is getting ready for a new leap along with other sections of Irans economic and industry in the post-sanctions era, the NPC chief said.

Following the JCPOA, problems in insurance, money transfer, exports, lack of international licenses, and technology transfer are gradually lifted, and major companies in the petrochemical industry are interested to participate in Irans projects, Shahdaei said.
