Iranians visiting Russia double: Minister

Tehran, March 15, IRNA Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said on Tuesday that number of Iranian tourists travelling to Russia has doubled.

Novak also pointed to 21 percent growth in the volume of Iranian and Russian merchandise in the past one year and said it is necessary to increase number of their flights.
He said that number of flights should increase to nine from five a week.

Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Abass Akhoundi said Russians' proposal to electrify Garmasar-Incheborun train is less costly than the price tagged by European and Chinese enterprises.

However, he added, the two sides should reach agreement on a logical price.

Akhoundi said also said that the Iranian party is serious in the share defined by Russia for electrifying the path.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Akhoundi said Iran is fully prepared to develop mutual cooperation in the maritime field.

He said Iran is ready to raise number of flights between Tehran and Moscow and other Russian cities. 'For the time being, Iranian drivers and sailors have problems in receipt of visas for travelling to Rusia and the laws regarding visas issuance in Russia should be facilitated.'
