TheUN special envoy for Syria says he expects the talks onSyria to result in aclear roadmap, if not an agreement, to resolve the crisis in the war-ravaged country.
Staffan de Misturamade the comments ata news conference on the UN-sponsored Syria peace talks in Geneva, Switzerland on Monday before the Syria peace talks slated to be held later in the day.
The UN envoy said the talks set to begin Mondaywould be the first of three rounds.
He said the negotiation will be inclusive, adding thatall Syrians should be given a chance to be heard.
De Mistura also warned that the only "plan B" that he knows of for Syria is a return to war, adding that this alternative isan even worse conflictthan the present one.
