Iran petchem exports up 26%

TEHRAN, March 07 (Shana) -- Iranian petrochemical plants are expected to have produce 46 million tons of their products and boost their exports by 26$ by end of the current year to March 20, a senior petrochemical official said.

Ali Mohammad Bossaqzadeh, director of production control at National Petrochemical Company (NPC), told Shana that by the end of the current year, Iran will have exported 60% of its petrochemical output.

He said Iran's petrochemical output stood at 43mt by February 20 but are estimated to hop another million tons by March 20, end of the Iranian calendar year.

"We expect to see the country's petrochemical output and exports rise provided that more favorable logistic facilities are procured during next year," said the official.

He said fresh petrochemical projects are under way which will become operational over the course of the next calendar year adding to the country's annual output.

"Regarding implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the petrochemical equipment and raw materials needed by plants will be supplied to them which will boost their productivity," he added.

Petrochemical exports fetched Iran nearly $11bn in revenues which is expected to remain the same given the global oil price slump.
