Iran, Russia to further bilateral contacts, especially during Int'l tension

Moscow and Tehran are interested in continuing bilateral contacts, especially during international tension, Russian deputy foreign minister.

MOSCOW (Sputnik) Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin said that both parties would continue to hold consultations as they are advantageous to both Russia and Iran.

A broad agenda was discussed and the focus was on the development of relations between our two countries with the states of the post-soviet space, starting with the Caucasus region, Central Asia, and the situation in Ukraine. The two countries held consultations on the foreign ministerial level on a number of bilateral projects, including the modernization of Irans railway systems, and the situation in Syria and Ukraine, according go the deputy foreign minister.

Moscow and Tehran have also discussed in detail Iran's relations with the Eurasian Economic Union.
