Iran Air stock to be sold globally

TEHRAN, Feb. 24 (MNA) Road minister said Iran Air seeks share sales at an international level adding the whole Iranian air fleet will become modernized.Speaking at a ceremony for the 55th anniversary of Iran Air establishment, Irans Minister of Road and Urban Development Abbas Akhundi pointed to the existence of 250 aircraft in the Iranian fleet 150 of which are active while the rest need to be removed for taking too much space at Iranian airports.

We would regainour share of the global industry trade change with renewal of the countrys aviation fleet, highlighted the minister adding Iranian airspace is the crossing route for thousands of aircraft while a small share of that belongs to Iranians.

Iranian people bought 12 billion dollars of plane tickets from foreign airliners between the years 2012-2015; modernization of Iran Air remains as one of the most important elements of the industry, he continued.

Referring to the long-term planning for the countrys air fleet, Akhundi noted with the purchase of new aircraft from Frances Airbus Company, the air fleet capacity will grow for 2.5 times.

Irans road minister further noted the plan to cooperate with leasing companies to supply the requirements of all airliners leading to the renewal of the whole industry.

Touching upon the plan to promote management and training of Iran Air to a world-class level, Akhundi commented we seek to implement international standards in the airlines of Iran.

The official emphasized the need to trade stocks at an international level asserting Iran Airs stock needs to be offered at world markets in order to privatize the company atthe global level.

We have managed to the first logistic step for Iran in the region to which end we launched the free trade zone of Imam Khomeini International Airport on Tuesday, he concluded.
